A letter for you

Dear Faye,

I've thought about how to say this in a hundred different ways — clever ones, poetic ones, ones that sound like they belong in a film. None of them sounded right. So I'm just going to say it plainly.

I like you. Quietly, completely, and for a much longer time than I've been brave enough to admit.

I like the way you show up in a room — not loud, just present. I like that you take the small things seriously and the serious things lightly. I like that talking to you feels like coming home from a long, cold day.

I'm not promising you a fairy tale. I'm promising you the boring, beautiful stuff — late-night messages, bad puns, the last bite of dessert, an umbrella when it rains. And the kind of patience that doesn't keep score.

You don't have to answer right away. You don't have to answer at all. I just couldn't keep this only on my side of the conversation anymore.

If this made you smile, even for a second — then this little page has done its job.

— Jevons
okay, the part I'm nervous about

Faye, will you be my favourite? 💍

(the "no" button is broken on purpose — sorry not sorry)

💗

You said yes.

Then I owe you: a real flower (not a pixel one), one very long hug, and approximately forever of trying to make you smile.
